Claims and benefits guide
These summaries point you toward the right program. They are not complete eligibility determinations, and VA and Kentucky requirements can change.
Check Agent Orange, burn pit and toxic exposure, Gulf War, Camp Lejeune, radiation, and other presumptions using VA's current locations, dates, and condition lists.
Review health-care priority, dental care, travel reimbursement, home-loan benefits, and other federal programs. Some family benefits require a permanent and total rating, not only a 100% evaluation.
Kentucky programs may include a dependent tuition waiver, disabled-veteran license plate, property-tax homestead exemption, disabled sportsman's license, and qualifying state-park lodging benefits.
Possible programs include DIC, Survivors Pension, CHAMPVA, education benefits, surviving-spouse home loans, accrued benefits, and burial or memorial benefits. Each program has separate eligibility rules.
Eligible Veterans and caregivers may receive reimbursement for approved VA or community-care travel. Set up travel-pay direct deposit, retain receipts, and normally file each claim within 30 days.
A claim can return to evidence gathering if VA needs more information. Watch your mail and VA.gov, attend scheduled examinations, and answer requests by the stated deadline.
